12 Nov Colin’s Birthday Gravel Mob – Story in PhotosReading Time: 3 minutes
Austin Texas is known for exactly two things:
The location of Matthew McConaughey’s infamous 1999 bongo drums arrest, and home to the King of Gravel, Colin Strickland.
Ok, those two facts might be true on their own merits. But Austin is synonymous with a million more great things. So we packed up the ALLIED van this past weekend and pointed it towards the Live Music Capital of the World, not looking for a Willie Nelson show, but jonesing to take in the festivities of the first annual Colin’s Birthday Gravel Mob.
The agenda was a pre-party on Friday night at The Meteor Cafe, followed by the Gravel Mob on Saturday down in the beautiful little town of Lockhart. Hot zones and the baddest vehicle ever to lead a gravel race/ride. Coma-inducing BBQ and beer, and the end result was a weekend worth putting back on the calendar for 2020. We’ll see you there…
