08 Feb Sam Pickman, CEO
What can we say about Sam Pickman, our new CEO? He may have been born and raised in the smallest state in the Union, Rhode Island, but that didn’t leave him with small ambitions. While many of us were digging in the dirt or playing Little League, Sam’s long time love affair with bikes blossomed as he jumped in and tried his competitive hand racing at the tender age of 15. The racing bug bit Sam hard, and he raced for the next sixteen years until 2011, finishing up at the elite level for Cal Giant Cycling. If you ever go out on a ride with Sam, you quickly realize that although his racing career may have come to an end, his competitive spirit and speed certainly have not.In between all the racing Sam managed to squeeze in a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from University of Rhode Island. Being a dutiful human, he took a position at Specialized right out of school and worked in various roles in the engineering department, ultimately landing as the Engineering Manager for R&D.His love for bikes landed him at ALLIED among the founders in 2016 as Director of Product and Engineering, where he was able to continue to express and expand the love affair he’s had for bikes for over twenty years. In typical Sam earnestness, when offered the position of CEO of ALLIED, he expressed his concern of wanting to be able to do the best he could. We assured him we knew he would, as that’s just the way Sam does it. Join us in congratulating Sam for always fighting hard, doing it the right way, and finally landing in the top spot at ALLIED Cycle Works, a company and a brand that makes bikes cast in his thoughtful image. Sam, we are truly excited to see where the bright future takes us with you at the helm.
